OUR
WORKSHOP SETTING...
Situated
between forest and sea on one of California's most beautiful coasts,
Asilomar, "Refuge or Retreat by the Sea" is the perfect setting for our
Watercolor/Collage workshop. Asilomar Conference Center, is located at
800 Asilomar Boulevard in Pacific Grove, at the end of Highway 68. Its
enchanted combination of forest and dunes creates a dramatic backdrop and
tranquil environment for our painting workshop.
Nearby Monterey and Carmel-by-the Sea delight visitors with their scenery,
shops and restaurants. Less than a mile from Asilomar, the gate to the
famed 17-Mile Drive beckons visitors to one of California's great scenic
experiences. Del Monte Forest and rugged seashore have led some to call it
this "Riviera of the Pacific".
Asilomar State Beach is one of the few white sand beaches on the West
Coast.
Originally founded as the YWCA's Western Regional Conference Center in
1913, Asilomar became part of the California State Parks system in 1956.
Join Jerry and AWTA to Capture Asilomar's natural beauty.
HIGHLIGHTS...
Explore and paint at a
variety of Jerry's own favorite Asilomar landscape painting sites. We will
also have the opportunity to learn how Jerry uses collage to enhance and
create texture in a painting. Jerry states: "I love the landscape,
both natural and human-built, and my simple goal is to transmit that
love to others through my work.
A wonderful opportunity to learn Jerry's masterful methods of analyzing
complex unfamiliar scenes, choosing images that best convey their unique
essence, and using design and color to paint your personal impressions. He
is the ideal instructor for the variety of subjects you will encounter
while sketching and painting on location. You will benefit from Jerry's
discussions, demonstrations, personal guidance, and helpful critiques. As
a dedicated teacher, Jerry is noted for his ability to guide you in
exploring exciting new ways to capture moods and impressions.
Benefit from friendships and interchanges with fellow artists. Gather
