Gerald F. Brommer is a renowned artist, author, educator, juror and scholar.  He is the acknowledged master of watercolor and collage painting methods which he originated and has taught for many  years. "Jerry" is both author and editor of over 35 art books, many of which are used as texts in art schools and colleges, as well as 30 instructional posters.  Jerry has  created twelve instructional video tapes, including  "Watercolor in Action-Responding to Nature"  & "Exploring Watercolor-from Location to Studio".      

Trained in Chouinard Art Institute, Otis Art Institute, University of Nebraska, USC, UCLA and Nebraska's Concordia Teachers College, he holds Master of Arts and Honorary Doctor of Literature degrees.   

In his teaching, he emphasizes the importance of exploring new methods in order to broaden the artist's range of visual expression.  Jerry states, “I love the landscape and my simple goal is to transmit that love to others through my work.”  

Jerry has painted and conducted artists workshops around the world and is in great demand as a teacher, consultant and art juror throughout the United States and abroad.  He has a legion of admiring artists who seek every opportunity to attend his workshops. He is noted for his sincerity, genial personality, humor, and masterful ability to guide and inspire individual artists at all levels of experience.  

His paintings have been in more than 135 one-man shows, 200 group shows and over 200 international exhibitions including the American Watercolor Society, National Academy of Design, Royal Watercolor Society of London, Butler Institute of American Art, Laguna Beach Museum of Art and many other museums and exhibits, consistently gaining highest honors and awards. 

He is represented in over 4000 private collections in thirty-seven states, five countries overseas and by galleries in Carmel, Claremont, and Laguna,California; Tampa, Florida; Hamilton, Bermuda; and London, England.
